Jonathan Borofsky's Molecule Man was installed in fall 2008. Fabricated of 2 1/2" thick aluminum plate, Molecule Man stands at 50', weighs 16.5 tons, and is clearly visible from the nearby convergence of Interstates 29 and 80. His three interconnected human silhouettes with 1,216 "holes" throughout refer to the molecules of all human beings coming together to create our existence.

Borofsky's reputation is heralded on an international basis with works found in Asia, Europe, and North America. In addition to his Molecule Man series, he is noted for his Hammering Man, Walking to the Sky, Walking Man, and his Man with Suitcase series, all of which center on the human figure.
